This is from a company that is valued at $20 billion. Think about that and let that sink in. Because of their relationships with powerful people, they can pull this BS and no one will go to jail or fail. If anyone thinks our economy is fair, then you must be part of the problem.

Update: GM says they did “appropriate diligence “. I love how Nikola’s CFO says that GM management knows what they’re doing. Because it’s not like GM hasn’t screwed up royally in the past and it’s decisions have always demonstrated it to be a very competent and financially sound company.

For a minute, I thought it was going to be about Elio finally going belly up. Has that happened yet, officially?

While Nikola is definitely a bit suspect, the “agency” that came out with all the claims against Nikola is literally a short-selling firm who basically uses news and “reports” to drive down stock prices after short-selling them. They have a very vested interest in making their targets look bad so I view anything form them as a bit suspect.

I don’t think they’ve made an official statement, but I can’t imagine it’s not dead. The last official press release from Elio was almost 2 years ago.
But hey, act now and you can get your vapor ware at 25% off!!

An electric vehicle company, I can understand not making it. I mean, there’s a lot of advanced technology there, and a 4 wheeled vehicle has to pass all crash tests, etc, but Elio has no freaking excuse. With the money they raised, they could have had something on the road years ago, if they didn’t waste so much time trying to reinvent a formula that already works. 3 wheeled chassis, cheap small engine, fiberglass body, snowmobile CVT. Just modernize a Reliant, and you’re done. Those things were built on a shoestring budget a few at a time in the later years, with just a handful of employees.

You have to be skeptical of both sides. They both have vested interests in getting people to buy their stories. Some of what’s in the Hindenburg report is meaningless fluff. Some of it is damning, if true.

A fairly weak response imho. I find the whole thing wildly entertaining, mainly because I have connections in my past to a few people there.
